Introducing – Creative Community Drop In! Industry Advice. Good Food. Open Mic.

These are brand new quarterly sessions for local creatives aged 18+. Taking place at our office at Toxteth TV, we welcome creatives to spend some time with the team.

Our next Drop In is Wednesday 22 May!

Creatives can book a 1-2-1 with the 20 Stories High team (full info below), enjoy a hot meal together or get involved in our end of the day open mic. Creatives can get involved in all elements, or just whatever feels useful!

Advice sessions are available to book between 1 – 5:30pm, followed by free food and an open mic.

1 – 5:30pm – Advice sessions
5:30 – 6:3opm – Free food
7 – 8pm – Open mic!

Keith Saha (he/him)

Artistic Director and Co-CEO

What I do:

My job is wide and varied, and I feel very lucky.  

I write and direct plays. Lead workshops. Look for funding opportunities. Make connections with existing and new creative and social partners. Go and see work to be inspired. Attend local and national networking meetings. Oversee the branding of the company. Am an activist in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion. Develop integrated access into work. Collaborate with exciting artists.  

I can help with: 

Developing an idea for a show or community project. Ideas around Playwriting. How to develop autobiographical work with wellbeing tools. How to bring a creative team together and work effectively. Developing creative access within your work. How to build and develop relationships with venues and partners. How to approach organisations in terms of race equality. Building a brand and identity for your company.

Leanne Jones (she/her)

Executive Director and Co-CEO

What I do: Co-creating with young people and communities, inclusivity in the arts, championing a more fair and representative theatre sector, participation and community engagement, producing shows and projects. Visioning, strategy and business planning, finance management, fundraising (but not the expert!) and wellbeing in the workplace. Supporting artists and theatre makers to go for it!

I can help with: I absolutely love having the chance to meet and chat with local creatives. I can support any conversations around any of the above areas, and also am happy to chat through individual development plans/goals, projects, partnerships and ideas generally.

What I do: Writing, directing, creative support, complain about theatre. 

I can help with: Sounding board for creative ideas, feedback on writing, critical collaborator, general career advice, tough love, chats and a really good cup of tea

Natasha Patel (she/her)

Producer and Operations Manager

What I do: I produce projects and tours for 20SH which includes liaising with creative & production teams and venues, creating budget and project timelines and ensuring project runs smoothly. I also look after the day to day operations of the organisation including updating policies, fundraising reporting and monitoring. 

I can help with: creating a budget for your project and how to manage a budget; creating a project timeline and sticking to deadlines; how to tour book.

Creative Producer/EDIA Associate

What I do: I am the creative producer at 20 Stories High, working closely with the youth theatre on developing their show and developing outreach opportunities for different communities in the city. I am also a director and writer. 

I can help with: Developing outreach and community projects; writing new work; directing; Arts Council applications.

Roxy Daykin-Moores (she/her)

Creative Producer

What I do: I was Creative Producer for over a decade at Contact, Manchester and am now a freelance Creative Producer at 20 Stories High with other arts and non-artistic organisations. I am passionate about supporting artists to create excellent, accessible theatre and creative projects.  

I can help with: Working within a creative settings/theatre venue; producing shows with young people and young adults, including young companies and emerging artists; commissioning/commissioned creative projects; project management; transforming theatre into TV.

Youth and Access Worker

What I do: I support the young people and help facilitate the projects that 20 Stories High runs. I also provide access support.  

I can help with: Access and wellbeing support; offer advice and information about other relevant services; assist to seek help and relevant support; give advice on how to be a youth and access worker; how to write an access rider, advice on how to conduct a wellbeing check.

Marketing and Communications Manager

What I do: I am in charge of all the messaging that comes out of the organisation – from print to website, social media to PR!

Laura Hall (she/her) 

Finance Manager 

What I do: I look after the pennies, so the pounds look after themselves! I look after all of our accounts, oversee the annual budgets, and, together with the Executive team, ensure the smooth financial running of the organisation. 

What I can help with: Creating budgets, creating and sending invoices, advice regarding funding applications. I can offer advice on contracting and HR, too!
