LAUNCH Trainee & Project Commission Announced

LAUNCH, our programme of professional development for emerging theatre makers in Liverpool, continues with the announcement of two new roles.

Steph Peet (pictured right), recent graduate of Community Drama at LIPA and co-founder of Unorthodox Theatre, is our first LAUNCH Trainee.

Steph will be developing her skills as a creative facilitator delivering sessions for our Youth Theatre and Young Actors Company as well as supporting our work in the local community.

And actor and youth worker, Paislie Reid (pictured above, left), has been awarded the first ever LAUNCH Project Commission.

The commission is designed to allow emerging artists to realise their community arts project with support from the team at 20 Stories High and includes a £3,000 grant towards costs.

Paislie impressed the panel with her proposal for a new play with songs putting the highs and lows of the gig-economy for hospitality industry workers under the spotlight. Taking the role of writer and director, Paislie will draw upon her own personal experience, as well as that of others.

The LAUNCH Trainee and Project Commission are available to current LAUNCH Academy members. The LAUNCH Academy is group of emerging artists from Liverpool whose development is supported by the LAUNCH programme. For more click HERE.

Applications for the LAUNCH Academy will re-open in Summer 2019 and subsequent Trainee and Project Comissions will be offered in 2020.

LAUNCH is delivered in partnership with Unity Theatre, Liverpool.
