At the beginning of July 20 Stories High and Theatre Rites brought back THE BROKE’N’BEAT COLLECTIVE at ON THE EDGE FESTIVAL run by ASSITEJ – an international festival for children’s and young people’s theatre. We played to packed out crowds of international delegates and local young people at the fantastic Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham and got some amazing feedback and responses.

At a time when our role in Europe is in doubt, it was great to spark ideas and have collaborative creative conversations with a truly international group of artists and young people. And to round it all off on the last day we were given a festival prize which was a Young Critics award for “Best ensemble: for the melding and mastery of their art forms and the sensitive treatment of their source material” We just want to say a HUGE thank you to all the young people that came and got involved in workshops, all the young people that were part of making the show and also the fantastic creative and production team that made the show what it was!
