Biography:
Sophia’s designs include Jemima Puddle Duck and her Friends and The Snow Queen (Unicorn),The Unlikely Tales of Molly Moonshine, Souls and Common Heaven (Theatre Centre), Imagine That! (National Theatre), Flathampton (Royal and Derngate Theatres, Northampton), The Snow Queen and Space Hoppers (Tell Tale Hearts) and Chagall and Little India (Trestle Theatre). Sophia has designed for three seasons at the Theatre by The Lake in Keswick, for the Summer Season; productions include The Caretaker, The Bogus Woman and Lonesome West.
Sophia works with many educational programmes attached to theatres, these include, National Theatre’s Discover, ENO’s Lilian Baylis Programme. Sophia very much likes working in schools with Creative Partnerships (A New Direction) designing art based projects that support the curriculum. This year she worked with The Prince of Wales School in Enfield designing with the children outdoor structures to encourage storytelling projects. The designs for these outdoor dens came from the children’s stories. Sophia also works for Bennison Fabrics designing objects and outfits in their fabrics.
