We are delighted to have our new Trainee Artistic Director, Nathan Powell, starting with us this month.
Nathan is joining us as part of the Trainee Artistic Director Programme, which provides four, paid, two year, full-time traineeships for experienced theatre directors with tiata fahodzi, Freedom Studios, Talawa Theatre Company and 20 Stories High.
The progamme is supported by Regional Theatre Young Directors Scheme (RTYDS) and the Independent Theatre Council (ITC).
Nathan has hit the ground running and has gone straight into rehearsals for HEADZ with director Jim Pope for our autumn tour.
He will then work alongside Co-Artistic Director’s Julia Samuels and Keith Saha on developing some brand new shows with our Youth Theatre and Young Actors Company for next year.
Nathan studied Theatre and Performance at Leeds University before moving to Nottingham to become the Diversity and Participation Officer at Nottingham Playhouse.
His directing for Nottingham Playhouse includes Noughts and Crosses, The Domino Effect, Holloway Jones.
He loves hip hop, grime and dancing… badly.
