20 Stories Launches Own Music Website

Over the past ten years, original music has been the pumping heart of many 20 Stories High shows. Now we are launching our very own 20 Stories High Bandcamp page as a place to showcase the music and songs from our shows.

Bandcamp is a place where you can download music from our shows and also tracks created by our very own music group: The 20 Stories High Sound System.

We’re launching the site this summer with TAKE ME HOME, a specially commissioned track that the 20 Stories High Sound System made with local artist and music producer KOF.

The song was written in response to the track ‘She’s Leaving Home’ from the famous Beatles’ album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band – the same song from which our most recent show took it’s title and inspiration as part of Sgt Pepper at 50 – Liverpool’s celebration of 50 years since the album’s release. It’s sobering, tender and epic and delves into the challenges young people face around home and housing in 2017.

Also on the site is MY BABY, a beautiful, heartfelt duet between a Mother and a daughter, which explores their intense and rocky relationship.

And lastly MOVE YOUR FEET, a song that promises to do what it says in the title.

MY BABY and MOVE YOUR FEET were written by our Youth Theatre and featured in last years show The Elasticated Sound System.

You can download the tracks for free or, if you’re able to, you can make a donation. Please remember: 20 Stories High is a charity and all proceeds will go straight back into running free participatory music and drama sessions with young people all over Liverpool, so please pay what you can.

More tracks will be recorded and uploaded, so watch this space!
