Seeking 3 male actors for: THE SPINE

THE SPINE is an explosive play about goals, brotherhood and the football academy system, written by Nathan Powell and directed by Rachael Nanyonjo.

The production will tour studio theatres, community spaces and schools, specifically for young people.

Breakdowns

Hakeem – Male (18) Black, Athletic build, from London

Hakeem is intelligent and thoughtful, often spends a lot of time in his head. He is committed to his goals and sees himself very much as a leader.

Kyle – Male (18) Black or Mixed Race, Athletic build, from London

Kyle is energetic, funny and witty. His focus is largely on football, does not want to be distracted from his goals.

Liam – Male (18) White, Athletic build, from Liverpool

Liam is an Academy player. He is hopeful and positive. He comes from a football family. He straddles the worlds of his working-class white family and his black friendship group.

All three actors must have physical theatre experience.

Football knowledge and experience playing football is a bonus, as the production includes football references and playing.

North-West tour: 1 February–13 March 2027

Holiday week: 15–21 February

Contract & Fee

ITC/Equity Contract — £630.90 per week

Travel and accommodation expenses covered.
