20 Stories High is a charity and we rely on donations to continue our work with working class, culturally diverse and marginalised young people. We’re incredibly grateful for your support.
20 Stories High was founded 20 years ago this year, built on the belief that everybody’s got a story to tell… and their own way of telling it. And that includes you.
If you’ve found your way here, you will have seen one of our shows, care about young people, access to the arts for all, the future of society or maybe stumbled across us on social media. Whatever your route to 20SH HQ, this is your opportunity to be part of our shared story.
On 9 June 2006, 20 Stories High came into this world, working with over 80,000 incredible young artists over the last two decades. And our work really does change lives.
“Five and a half years ago, I joined 20 Stories High as a naive and insecure teenager. I left as an adult with a heart for writing, a love of singing and acting, and a belief that my voice is important. This is something I won’t ever forget.”

After 20 amazing years, we’ve got plenty to celebrate (watch this film to see what we mean) but we need to be honest: these are really tough times for charities and arts organisations like us. There’s more demand for what we do and less funding available than ever before.
So, if you’ve ever thought about making a donation to 20 Stories High, now’s the time to do it. Whether you can give us a birthday gift of £20, £2 or £200 – whether it’s a one off or on our anniversary every year – your donation will take us a step towards our birthday target of £20,000 and ensure we’re still here in 2046.
We’ve achieved so much but there’s still loads more to do. Together we can keep our Youth Theatre free to all, transform lives, empower young people to tell the stories which matter most to them – and create the future we all want for our young people.
Thank you for your support: you’re all amazing! Here’s to the next 20 years ❤️
