Biography
Julia, together with co-artistic Director Keith Saha, established 20
Stories high in 2006. For 20 Stories High, she has directed Blackberry Trout Face and Last Thursday. She has directed 20SH Youth Theatre shows Rain, A Private Viewing and co-directed Dark Star Rising and On Me Onez. She was also Artistic Associate on Ghost Boy and Babul and the Blue Bear.
Previously, she worked for 5 years in the Education Department at Theatre Royal Stratford East, directing Youth theatre shows including Girlz’n’Boyz (Stratford Circus) and Oshinowo (The Pit, Barbcian Theatre), and working on new writing and forum theatre programmes. She then became Education Producer at the National Theatre.
Freelance work includes directing, producing and facilitating for various companies including: Theatre Centre, RSC, Soho Theatre,
North West Playwrights, Half Moon Young People’s Theatre, writernet, Theatre Royal Plymouth.
Julia trained at Birmingham University and Central School of Speech
and Drama.
