HEADZ Pop Up Performances

Our series of contemporary urban monologues HEADZ is about to go on a pop up tour of libraries, community centres, hostels, schools and other spaces for the second year running.

Thanks to Arts Council England’s Strategic Touring Fund, which aims to take the arts to places that are under resourced, HEADZ will tour nationally in a combination of private and public shows.

This year HEADZ will be performed by the hugely talented Brodie Arthur, Scott Lewis and Emma Burns – all ex-members of our youth theatre. The show is written by Co-Artistic Director, Keith Saha and is directed by Jim Pope and our new Trainee Artistic Director, Nathan Powell.

We’re also excited to be introducing three brand new stories too…

WEED tells the story of Lola, a young woman who has a complicated relationship with her beloved ganja…

DATES is about Jenna, who doesn’t see eye to eye with her Dad about her constant use of Tinder…

And FARM is all about a young lad called Jonno, who’s been sleeping rough and finally gets a place her can call home.

20 Stories High Strategic Touring Manager, Laura Orchard said:

“Creating theatre by, with and for young people is fundamental to the work of 20 Stories High, so it only seems right that we are taking work created by our young company out to be performed to their peers, in areas where engagement in the arts is low.

“The strategic tour also helps us to develop meaningful relationships with organisations and services across the North West of England, which in turn strengthens the provision of quality art for all young people, regardless of where they live.”
